What is the WBS International Student Association (WISA)?
The aim of the International Student Association is to bring together the community of international students, as well as to build an open and inclusive platform for cooperation among the students from different countries at Wekerle Business School.
One additional goal of the Association is to build an alumni system for the international Wekerle graduates. This initiative shall enable the members of the association to expand their external connections and to meet talented young entrepreneurs and business leaders.
How to become a member of the WBS International Students Association?
Requirements:
- GPA requirement: Students must have earned at least 45 credits with a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 or higher based on their results of the previous 2 semesters.
- Language proficiency: They must be able to communicate in English very well, i.e. at B2 level or above.
- Clean record: They have not displayed any behavioural misconduct.
- Principle of Diversity: To ensure a diverse membership, no single nationality may represent more than 20% of the total members in the association.
- Year of study: Applicants must be at least in their 2nd year of studies.
- Financial criteria: Applicants must not have any tuition fee debts.

I. Required document:
To apply, submit your CV, which should include basic personal information, educational background, hobbies, and other relevant details.

II. Campaign period: between 5-7 May 2025
Applicants must create a flyer with a mission statement explaining why they would be the perfect fit for the role they wish to apply for. They should also collect as many signatures as possible from students supporting their election. This document and the list must be presented at the interview.
III. Interview process:
Suitable candidates will be invited to a personal interview to discuss their motivation and ideas. The interview is conducted jointly by the President's Office and the International Office.
Interviews will take place between 8-9 May 2025.
What are the main tasks of the International Student Association?
- Organize various activities and social events, including talks, cultural and educational events to provide students with opportunities for multicultural exchange, learning and networking.
- Participate in the graduation ceremony on 12 July 2025.
- Produce monthly multilingual campus vlogs, that focus on practical business courses, manage country-specific Facebook and WhatsApp communities, and regularly post the latest school news and international student stories.
- Cooperate with the Hungarian Students Association (HÖK) and occasionally create opportunities for international and Hungarian students to meet and connect.
Expectations of the members:
Members are expected to be role models, demonstrating a high-achieving attitude to inspire their peers. They should act as community builders, fostering connections among students.
Members are required to actively participate in school programs and assist at events.
Reward:
Selected association members will receive a 500 EUR tuition fee waiver starting from the next semester, September 2025.

Selected members of the association will appoint the following roles from among themselves: president, secretary, and other task-related roles
The selected members serve for a duration of one year.
The WBS International Students Association reports to the President's Office.
